Elevate Your Recovery and Performance
Whether you're returning from injury or looking to enhance your physical performance, our sports physiotherapy service is tailored for athletes and active individuals. We combine clinical expertise with practical rehab to help you recover stronger and prevent future issues.
Why Sports Physio Matters
1. Supporting the Body’s Natural Healing Process
Sports physiotherapy addresses the specific demands of sports performance. It focuses on effective tissue healing, load management, biomechanical correction and personalised rehabilitation strategies based on sport-specific goals.
When soft tissue—like muscles, tendons, or ligaments—are injured, the body progresses through a series of healing stages:
inflammation, repair, and remodelling (see fig 1.).
At Redrock Physio, we use targeted treatments such as manual therapy, progressive loading, and mobility drills to support each phase of this healing process. This helps to align collagen fibres correctly, restore strength, and reduce the risk of re-injury.
2. Managing Tendon Injuries with Load and Shockwave
In tendon injuries, controlled loading through exercise stimulates collagen production and improves tendon stiffness, helping the tissue withstand daily and athletic demands. For more persistent or chronic cases, we also utilise radial shockwave therapy—a proven tool that promotes blood flow, encourages cellular regeneration, and supports tendon remodelling.
Combined with prolonged and progressive loading, shockwave can be an effective adjunct to accelerate recovery and resolve long-standing tendon pain.
3. Moving Beyond Rest: Guided Recovery
Physiotherapy is not just about rest—it’s about guiding healing so that the tissue grows back stronger and more adaptable. Our evidence-led approach helps ensure that your recovery is not only complete but more resilient than before.

Our Approach

Our Three-Step Approach:
Assess: We start with a detailed biomechanical and functional assessment
Treat: Hands-on therapy, taping, shockwave therapy, manual therapy, education and load management
Rebuild: Guided exercise, strength training and return-to-play progression
Common Injuries We Treat:
-
Muscle strains and ligament sprains
-
Overuse injuries like runner's knee and tennis elbow, recurrent hamstring tears
-
Tendon issues, including Achilles or patellar tendinopathy
-
Joint instability or post-surgical rehab
-
Acute trauma and sport-related injuries

Who We Work With & What We Aim to Achieve
We support a wide range of individuals—from recreational runners and regular gym-goers to semi-professional athletes—each with different movement demands and performance goals.
Our aim is not only to treat pain but also to optimise movement quality and long-term resilience.
For each athlete, rehabilitation is focused on:
-
Stimulating tendon and soft tissue repair through progressive, load-based strengthening
-
Correcting biomechanical inefficiencies to reduce strain and improve function
-
Enhancing proprioception and neuromuscular control to support joint stability
-
Improving energy transfer, endurance, and sport-specific movement patterns
By focusing on the underlying cause of injury—not just the symptoms—we create sustainable improvements that help athletes move, perform and recover better for the long term.
