My Story
Sarah Parr is an Advanced Spinal Physiotherapist with over 20 years’ clinical experience, specialising in the assessment and management of complex spinal conditions.
She works with patients whose back or neck symptoms are persistent, worsening, or unclear, particularly where nerve involvement, spinal pathology, or post-surgical recovery may be contributing factors.
Sarah is known for her calm, thorough approach and her ability to explain complex spinal problems clearly, helping patients feel informed, reassured, and confident about their next steps.
What Sarah Treats
Sarah works with people experiencing a wide range of conditions, including:
-
Back and neck pain, nerve-related leg symptoms or unclear spinal patterns
-
Persistent or recurrent pain, where progress has stalled
-
Load-related and movement patterns affecting daily life or sport
-
Hip, pelvic and gluteal contribution to spinal symptoms
-
Exercise-related pain during gait, gym work, or dynamic movement
-
Rehabilitation post-injury or post-flare-up
-
Pilates-friendly strength and movement recovery
Her work spans spinal care and traditional musculoskeletal rehabilitation, supporting patients with a wide range of everyday and sports-related injuries.
How Sarah Works
Sarah’s consultations focus on understanding you, your story, how your symptoms behave, what matters most to you, and how movement fits into the bigger picture.
Her approach includes:
-
Thorough assessment: history, biomechanics, movement quality and symptom behaviour
-
Hands-on care: manual techniques, joint and soft tissue work when helpful
-
Movement-based rehab: guided strength, mobility and control work
-
Clinical Pilates integration: movement strategies that enhance control and function
-
Clear education: explaining pain, progression and practical next steps
She avoids generic “one-sheet” exercise plans, instead you’ll get targeted programmes adapted as you improve.
Special Focus: Spinal Assessment & Triage
While Sarah treats physiotherapy patients across a broad range of presentations, she specialises in advanced spinal assessment for individuals who require deeper clinical reasoning for back or nerve-related symptoms.
This service helps you get clear on:
-
Whether physiotherapy is the right next step
-
Whether imaging (e.g., MRI) might add value
-
Whether a referral to a consultant is necessary
-
How to prioritise rehab and activity safely
This isn’t a separate service from her core physiotherapy work; it complements it and helps patients with more complex back and nerve patterns find clear direction.

Movement & Rehabilitation Philosophy
Sarah believes recovery is not just about reducing pain, it’s about helping you move confidently in the roles and activities that matter to you:
-
The parent who wants to bend without wincing
-
The person returning to regular activity or sport
-
Someone who wants confidence in movement, not fear of flare-ups
Her use of movement, strength and Clinical Pilates helps patients move with purpose, not just chase short-term symptom relief.
