Expert Manual Therapy Techniques with Kieran Cummins
Chartered Physiotherapist BSc Hons MCSP
I qualified in 2001 from Brunel University and am a highly skilled therapist specialising in musculoskeletal physiotherapy (MSK) and occupational health. I have over 20 years’ experience treating a mixed and varied caseload, from sports injuries and spinal problems to postural dysfunction and rheumatological problems.
Starting my career in the NHS I spent most of my time working in a rheumatology department treating patients with hypermobility (including Ehlers–Danlos syndromes), ankylosing spondylitis and rheumatoid arthritis. I use a holistic approach enabling patients to work towards managing and improving their symptoms. Along with manual therapy (massage and tissue manipulation) and advice and exercise prescriptions, it is my hope that I enable clients to build their strength, flexibility and confidence in undertaking normal day-to-day activities.
Prior to starting Redrock Physio, I worked in Central London at Bank of America, Barclays Capital and Travers Smith as an in-house occupational health physiotherapist and also in private practice in St Albans. The two main client groups that I treated were those with sports injuries and postural dysfunction due to environmental constraints at work and home. Whether you have an overuse injury, a traumatic injury such as a sprained ankle, or you have neck, back or shoulder pain caused by sitting for too long in a poor posture, I can help.
My philosophy to treatment is to promote self-management with an attainable exercise programme. This is driven by manual therapy (massage and manipulation) to help create pain-free movement.
